Kipper loses the magic Key - will it ever work again?
So what will happen in the story?
What will happen with the key.
Let's open the book and turn to page 1.
Kipper was looking at the magic key.
So did the toys.
What did Kipper want to do?
Kipper wanted a magic adventure
but the magic key would not glow.
Kipper 想要一次魔法探险，
但是钥匙没有亮。
And,
It had not glowed for a long time.
它已经很久没有亮了。
Then,
Kipper had an idea.
What's that?
“Maybe it will glow if I keep it with me,” he thought,
so he put it in his pocket.

Is that a good idea for Kipper to keep the key with him?

Mum had to go shopping.
妈妈要去购物
She wanted Kipper to go with her.

He was waiting for a magic adventure.

“I want to get you some new trainers,” she said, “so come on.”

In Kipper's back pocket.
Oh, I can see how the key might lost this way.

On the way to the shops,
Mum let Kipper stop and play.
在去商店的路上，
妈妈让 Kipper 停下来玩耍。
He ran to the rocket
and the key fell out of his pocket
and on to the grass.
Kipper 跑去火箭那里，
钥匙从他的口袋里掉了出来，
掉到了草地里。
“Look at me,Mum!” he called.

Poor key！
Did Kipper know he had lost the key?
Could he get the key back?

They were in the shop.
It hit him that he lost his key.
Kipper 和 妈妈已经到了商店，
他突然想起了他的钥匙。
Where was it?
Kipper looked in his pockets
but the key was not there.
Kipper 看着他的口袋，
钥匙不见了。
The key had gone.
“oh,no!” said Kipper.
“Where is the key?
I can’t have lost it ,can I?”
Kipper 说：哦不！
钥匙去哪了？
我不会把它给弄丢了吧。
Kipper was shocked and frightened.
He knew he made a big mistake.
But he had lost the key.
但是他的确把钥匙给弄丢了。
What could he do?
Kipper wanted to go and look for the Key,
but Mum would not let him.
Kipper 想要去找钥匙，
但妈妈不让他去。
Where was the key?
It was still on the grass.
If now Kipper went to the key now, maybe he could find it.
But Mum would not let him.
It had started to rain
and Mum wanted to get home.
开始下雨了，妈妈想让他回家。
“Ask Biff and Chip to look for it,” she said.
妈妈说：让 Biff 和 Chip 来找找看吧。
Did Mum know why the key was important to the children?
No, she didn't.
She didn't know it was a magic key.
Because it's a secret.
Poor key!
Poor Kipper!

A man came to cut the grass.
一个男人前来割草。
He cut it with a mower.
mower 割草机
他用割草机来割草。
The mower ran over the magic key with a clang.
哐啷一声，割草机轧到了魔法钥匙。
Where was the key?
It flew into the air.
And it was bent.
“What was that?” said the man.
男子说：这是什么呀？
The key had broken the mower.
钥匙把割草机给弄坏了。
“Grrrrr!” the man said , crossly.
男子很生气的说：Grrrr！
“Now I shall have to mend the mower.”
现在要去修理割草机了。
He was so cross that he threw the magic key in a bin.
他太生气了，所以把魔法钥匙扔到了垃圾桶里。
这里的 so that 表示：太... 以致于、太 ... 所以
和我们以前提到过的 too ... to 是差不多的意思
举个例子：
I am so tired that I want to sleep right now.
我是太累了，所以我想马上睡觉。
My sister is too young to go to school.
我妹妹太小，所以不能去上学。
也可以换成：
My sister is so young that she can't go to school.
ok，在绘本中，
He was so cross that ...
他太生气了，所以...
So, where was the key?
It's in the bin now.
Could Biff and Chip find it now?

Two boys came to play on the swings.
两个男孩子来玩荡秋千。
One of the boys looked in the bin and found the key.
一个男孩看了看垃圾桶，发现了钥匙。
So Where was the key now?
It's in the boys hand.
“Look at this old, bent key,” he said.
“What shall we do with it?”
他说：瞧这把又弯又旧的钥匙。

Why was it bent?
It was hit by a mower.
The boys took the key with them.
男孩子拿起了钥匙。
One of them had some string.

其中一个男孩子有些 绳子。
He tied the key to the string and spun it round and round.
spun/spin 旋转
他把钥匙系到绳子上，
把它转啊转啊。
Where would the boys go?
I have no idea.
They left park with the key.
How could Biff Chip and Kipper find the key?

Suddenly the string broke and the key flew through the air.
突然，绳子断了，钥匙飞到了空中。
It hit a greenhouse with a crash and broke the glass.
哐镗一声，魔法钥匙击中了温室的玻璃。
把温室的玻璃给打碎了。
“Oh no!” said the boys.
男孩子们说：哦不！
Look,
Why has the man got a bump on his head?
Becaus the magic key landed on the man's head.
Ouch!
The man was cross.
“Look at my greenhouse!” yelled the man.
“The glass is broken.”
男子大叫：瞧瞧我的温室，玻璃都碎了！
The boys ran away as fast as they could.
男孩子们用最快的速度跑走了。
“Just you come back here,” called the man.
男子喊道：你们给我回来。
So where was the key now?
How could the children know?
Could they get the key back?
